Knock Down Ceiling Texture Paint Question?

I did a knock down texture yesterday afternoon and by the way turned out great. i was wondering should i just paint it with a flat paint first or primer then paint. any tipsKnock Down Ceiling Texture Paint Question?
It depends on the paint. Some paint says on the label that you don't need a primer over new drywall. (And that's how I would treat the texture- same as fresh drywall for priming purposes) Some says you do need primer. I wouldn't rely on people here who say you do or don't need it. I would count on the paint manufacturer to provide the most accurate answer.Knock Down Ceiling Texture Paint Question?
two coats of any paint you like, primer is for raw wood, new sheetrock and stains, and is extremely overused

first coat kinda thin second coat a little more heavy with the paint
Fresh texture should be coated with a PVA primer before painting.
flat paint, you don,t need a primer on plaster
