Is there some sort of treatment you can put over paint to tone down the color, without a textured look?

It's a bright yellow wall that I would like to look more like a butter cream but I do not want a faux textured finish. Is there some sort of treatment you can put over paint to tone down the color, without a textured look?
Antiquing gel or glaze.

But if it were me I'd just repaint. Save yourself a lot of time and money. Instead of spending the next week buying things to tone down the color and end up still not liking it.Is there some sort of treatment you can put over paint to tone down the color, without a textured look?
Just find a paint a color you like and paint away.

Behr latex at Home Depot has almost no odor.
It seems that whatever you do, it will be work. why not just repaint in the color you want?
Repainting may be the easier solution, but if i were you, I would paint a chocolate brown glaze. It would not only tone down your yellow but give a beautiful finish
