Is wallpaper a better option or Textured paint?

texture paint when applied by an amateur ALWAYS looks like such a mess. Wallcoverings applied properly is a much better choice. Is wallpaper a better option or Textured paint?
It depends on how long you intend to keep the wallpaper. I prefer textured paint since you can change the colors of the wall much easier than stripping off wallpaper.

If you choose to apply wallpaper make sure the wall has been primed with water-based kilz-it. After that is dry roll on a couple coats of wallpaper sizing to form a barrier between the wall and the wallpaper. It is a starch like substance mixed with water. I find it easier to apply using a small sponge roller.

Wallpaper can give you more options e.g. vinyl papers can give options of textured paint finish also. You can check more in the article here:

Wall paper can be removed when you or the next owner gets tired of it. Textured paint is almost forever.
Wallpaper is best.
paint is easier to apply
