my opinion is paint, because t-111 siding is basically plywood so the face of it usually has some defects and with stain you still have to seal it...Which is better for painting garage with textured 1-11 siding, paint or solid stain?
My husband and I are currently siding our garage, and they don't make the accent color that we wanted, so we painted it. Bright blue - tough color to work with because it is dark, but what we used (and it is absolutely gorgeous ) is Oil Based Industrial Outdoor Paint. Hope that helps.
I don't think that it would take stain, and I'm pretty sure that if it did, it would not be a consistent color.Which is better for painting garage with textured 1-11 siding, paint or solid stain?
We have T1-11 on a shed in our yard and we painted a sagey green color. It still looks good; hasn't peeled and it sits in full sun (it's been 7-8 years now).
Solid stain is actually better for t1-11. Paint will peel eventually and look like crap on t1-11 but stain will just fade a bit every few years and subsequent coats go on easier and still look good. Scraping paint off of t1-11 is a chore.
