Has anyone heard of mixing paint with joint compound for a textured look?

If so, would someone give me the steps to take. Which textured look will I get.Has anyone heard of mixing paint with joint compound for a textured look?

Yes i have did this. Even though they say you are not supose to add or paint a textured ceiling. It shows dirt and cob webs. But all you need to do is take out alittle of the compound and hook your paddles to your drill and add as much paint as you want to get the right color. The textured you will get is what ever tool you use. There is alot out there to pick from. You can use just a regular roller and it will be like choppy water sideways. You can use a ceiling stomper and get a flower look. You can use a broom and get a fan look. So it all depends on the texture tool you pick to what look you will get.
