How do I become an interior paint texture specialist? (or whatever they are called)?

You know the people that apply the faux or texturized finishes to interior walls. My father is a carpenter and mentioned this to me but does not know how I would go about it. I know I could learn a few things at like home depot or research online and practice but I want to be legit. Is there a certification program where you can learn techniques and become a specialist? I don't even know what they are called? How do I become an interior paint texture specialist? (or whatever they are called)?

This is one for an example of what you are looking for I think. You can do a search on faux finishing schools, or faux finishing certificates....that sort of thing. It is hard to do a search when you just don't have the right words to use..been there done that.

Good idea your dad has and good luck on your new career venture. How do I become an interior paint texture specialist? (or whatever they are called)?
You can find classes all over the country, look into your own area. They are expensive, so try to get one that ranges in all types of faux. I am a faux painter and never took one class, been doing it for 17 years. I started out by getting books and practicing. I truly advise,if you can afford it, to get classes-but can be done either way. Hope you have a flair for the craft-helps to take color classes as well. My website is for beginners, start practicing everywhere you can while seeking classes. http://www.anyonecanfaux.com

Good luck
if you want a profession i would suggest at the least you know what their title is
