Has anyone done a textured paint job? In order to hide a bad sheetrock job? tell me what to do.?

You can buy a textured roller at the hardware store and you can even buy a textured paint if the job is that badHas anyone done a textured paint job? In order to hide a bad sheetrock job? tell me what to do.?
Go with Big City.Has anyone done a textured paint job? In order to hide a bad sheetrock job? tell me what to do.?
Big City is right, wall joints can be a hard thing to handle, anything from the house settling, bad framing, bad tape and bed jobs, bubbles under the tape can cause problems. it really is all according to what the situation is. check those problems first. you may need to strip it down to the sheetrock and retape and bed it. just covering it up can make it worse.
yes i have,

i have lived in a lot of different apartments

i have sponge painted....this hides it well, but i didn't really care for the look

i did two that i really liked......one i did for my little girls room and made it look like water.....i painted sea green with a roller and then used large pieces of paper and smeared in waves....

its hard to explain....the wall was white and i used a dark sea green.....then i just held the paper to the wall and made wavy lines into the wet paint.

another i painted the wall smoke grey and let that dry....then i used a feather duster and 'sponged' on glossy white.....just pour the paint in a shallow dish, dip the duster in, and jab on the wall.

best to try these out on an old board or something first

good luck
Trying to hide a bad drywall and taping job is tough, sometimes painting over bad taping with dark colors or gloss paint will make it stick out even worse.Get a taper or even try yourself to skim coat over the bad areas, then sand it. I'm sorry, paint can't cover up poor craftsmanship. You can spray on mud and create a look called splatter or just trowel it on and swirl it called spanishing, but if you want smooth it's got to be done with the taping and sanding.
Follow the instruction of using the paint properly, and follow how to minimize the bad things.
