How do remove textured wallpaper that has been applied directly to the sheetrock? I want to paint now.?

Score the wallpaper using a paper tiger tool. Then, saturate newspaper with warm water and apply it to the wall at a seam. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then gently work a scraper under the edge and lift. This should remove the paper with minimal damage to the sheetrock. You also should only apply it to an area that can be removed in less than half an hour so you don't end up saturating the paper on the sheetrock. How do remove textured wallpaper that has been applied directly to the sheetrock? By your question I am assuming you DID NOT prime the sheetrock prior to hanging the paper. If this is true, no matter what you do or how careful you are there is going to be some damage to the sheetrock. I like hot water and vinegar, being careful not to over saturate the unprimed sheetrock.
