A friend wanted a three dimensional effect for her painting. It is an abstract.Does anyone have a recipe for an impasto or texture medium for oil paints?

Try this and see if it is suitable for your friends technique.
Add a small amount of 'polyfilla' like decorators use.
Only use small amounts at a time in, in it's powdered form, no water - natch!
