If i use sand and PVA glue mixed to create a sand texture on a canvas will i be able to paint over it?

i was just wondering if acrylic paint would be able to stick on top of the PVA glue?If i use sand and PVA glue mixed to create a sand texture on a canvas will i be able to paint over it?
Yes, acrylics will work, don't over dilute them. Very little else will adhere to it though.If i use sand and PVA glue mixed to create a sand texture on a canvas will i be able to paint over it?
Yes, I use that technique for basing models. Use waterproof (woodworking) PVA glue though.
