How do you add ';texture'; to wall paint?

Some areas of my walls need repairing/repainting. Here's a picture of what the texture looks like:

How do I go about duplicating that texture when I repaint?

Thanks in advance. How do you add ';texture'; to wall paint?
The texture arises from plaster that's spread on the wall before the wall is painted. This is an art form and the patterns achieved vary widely. You can try to mimic the pattern yourself, but practice on a spare piece of sheetrock first -- the plaster dries fast.

If you Google ';skip trowel'; you'll find some how-to sites. Here's an example: http://www.onlinetips.org/skip-trowel-te鈥?/a>
