i had to cut a hole in my wall because a pipe was leaking. so i fixed the wall and now i have up drywall to replace the large area i took out.

how do i texture paint it with out using a roller spongy brush, and i dont want to use a sponge because it is kinda on the big side

help please? How can i texture paint a section of a wall?
You will need a roller to do this, but it looks AMAZING!!

Get an old rag, and a roller (you can get any kind of roller for just a few dollars). Wrap the rag messily around the roller, so that its very wrinkly. Pour your paint into a shallow container, and roll the paint on as you would normally. This makes it look really cool, and you may want to do your whole wall (it will look kinda funny if you only do part of the wall)

Another really cool way to paint is to get two colors. One should be lighter and the other darker, but the same color. Roll (or sponge, or paint with a brush) the lighter color on the wall. Let it dry (for a few minutes as it doesn't matter if it's totally dry). Get a large garbage bag, and cut it open so its a large plastic sheet. Paint splotches (about 1/2 of the whole wall, but just little parts here and there) with the darker color on top, and quickly cover the paint with the garbage bag. Smoosh it around a bit, and tear of the garbage bag. This makes a great looking wall -- and it even looks better than what you would pay who-knows-how-much for by a profecional! If you're doing a whole wall, get those huge, clear, plastic sheets used to cover things outside, and use this instead of a garbage bag.

Another way to make it look amazing, is too use two different colors, but let the first color completely dry. You can also use white as your base color, and then only need one color on top (but use a light color if this is the case)

Hope this works for you as well as it's worked for me!
