Does Anyone know a way to use a home product to add texture to acrylic paint, what would work best?

I want to add some texture to my acrylic paints. I will be adding it right before I use it so it doesn't have to store well necessarily. Would it be possible to use something like sugar or salt? Any help here would be GREAT! THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Does Anyone know a way to use a home product to add texture to acrylic paint, what would work best?
dont use sugar. dont use salt. sand is good, saw dust is good. paper is good, i dont see why toilet paper shouldnt work, ive also used a pieces of a sock in one painting. whats also good is that you are using these things i find too many artist being lazy and buying paints with readymade texture already premixed. experiment.

hey if you want a high gloss try Future Floor Cleaner it has an acrylic base you can use this with premixed paints as well as a binder for powder pigmentsDoes Anyone know a way to use a home product to add texture to acrylic paint, what would work best?
you can try salt, but id go with sand, it wont dissolve in the moisture
Sugar and salt will start to dissolve as you use them, it would be better to use sand. You can usually find fine grain sand at Lowes and Home Depot. Also try saw dust, it varies from very fine to fairly chunky. And there is always dirt.

All these materials will dry out your paint, so add water and gel medium, and they are very harsh on brushes.

You might also try putting down some paint and then pouring the texture material onto it.
