Does anyone know how to remove textured paint?

Pretty much as above - remove it with a scraper or chemical paint remover, sand it or a skim coat of plaster. All of these are messy.

The only other thing I might add is that if it is just paint with 'sand' in rather than artex which has bigger lumps in it, then you may be able to put some lining paper on the walls and then wall paper on top of that. You can always test a small area to see if that will work for you.Does anyone know how to remove textured paint?
You don`t give much details,as far as I know I don`t know of any textured paint, you say its not plaster,if it is the only way to get it off the wall is by sanding.Than it could be art ex,if it has not been painted it will come off by using a scraper. It is a messy and dusty job,so be warned...good luck.Does anyone know how to remove textured paint?
When I need to do that, I rent a drywall sander from the tool rental store. It costs around $50, but it makes the job easy and doesn't make a huge mess. Usually after sanding there is a small amount of patching/spackling work to do.
the quickest way is to steam it ,taking care not to take the plaster of the wall, just work slowly it wil come off.
You either scrape/sand it off, or you can put a skim coat of plaster over it.
when you say texturd paint do you mean artex???

well if you have artex then your have to plaster the walls
You need a chemical paint stripper.
Need more info. Is it on walls, was it painted over paper etc ?
